NOTE: Some USB devices that have multiple interfaces will have an additional &MI_zz value at the end (where zz represents a numeric value). The AnywhereUSB Viewer Utility can be closed after obtaining the VID and PID values. The IDs on the local machine being used will look similar, but they will likely have different numbers for the VID and PID. "VID_0951&PID_1603" is an example of a Hardware ID. Construct the Hardware ID based on the following format: "VID_xxxx&PID_yyyy" where xxxx and yyyy are specific numbers (the VID and PID). Look on the right-hand side for the VID (Vendor ID) and PID (Product ID) of that specific device. Expand the RealPortUSB Host Controller section(s) on the left-hand side and select the USB port of the USB device that you wish to enable this feature on. The Start Menu shortcut to the AnywhereUSB Viewer Utility is called "USB Device Viewer" with the current AnywhereUSB driver. Determine the Hardware ID of the USB device in question by running the AnywhereUSB Viewer Utility from the Start Menu shortcut, then selecting the USB device in question (on the AWUSB USB port it's connected to) on the left-hand side. As the name implies, the AnywhereUSB's "IgnoreSerialNumberList" feature can be used to ignore the serial number of a certain type of USB device based off of that device's Hardware ID, which is in turn based off of that USB device's VID (Vendor ID), PID (Product ID), and optionally MI (multi-interface) values.ฤก. Attaching multiple USB devices that share the same serial number to an AnywhereUSB may cause issues such as bluescreens (BSOD's).
